Moving to East Africa and Climate Change...

Hi gang,

You all can thank the Swedish Terror. We had a very constructive discussion about the amount of homework that I gave you all do for today's class and after reflecting upon it, I will work not to overload you with homework. It is important, however, that we make the most of our class time.

We have 3 classes left until the Winter Break. On Friday we will spend 1/2 the class period discussing the current UN Climate Change Conference and the second 1/2 of class briefly introducing ourselves to East Africa.

You all will have a physical and a political map test on Tuesday December 15. This quiz will consist of both political and physical feature questions pertaining to East Africa. You will receive the study maps on Friday in class. If you want to begin ahead however, refer to the book's section on East Africa.

For tonight, first, view this picture (click on the picture to see it or visit http://mail.google.com/a/isd.sn/?ui=2&ik=e6e1014a10&view=att&th=12572b52346365d7&attid=0.1&disp=inline&realattid=f_g2zvjdeu0&zw):

What is going on with this student's internal debate about global warming? Can you relate to him/her? Do you worry about climate change or is it to far removed from your reality? Post your thoughts, your comments.

Next, visit the following website: http://en.cop15.dk/frontpage

Spend about 20 minutes or so reading through to find out what exactly this conference is all about. Be prepared to discuss the importance of this summit and what role your home country and Senegal is playing.

Ba ajuma!
