I don't think its exploitation because everyone steals ideas from other cultures...if everyone just kept things to themselves then others wouldn't see the beauty in those things, this is the same for cultures. If cultures are kept hidden then others can't the beauty of that culture. In this case, dressing in a certain way is part of their culture, and if people wear it its because they like it, and also because if people bought it, it means that it was meant to be bought for the plessure of buying something you like.

Indian have very Exotic colors in their clothings. Salwar Kamis is i guess part of the Indian Religeon so it is a mark that can tell you if a woman has been married or not. In there skirts, they always have they're (sexy part) stomach showing, it is tradition. They put Henna calling it their "Inner Sound". Then Being threaded is really painfull! I have tried it before and even i started tearing while the bareber was threading me. South asians are very reseptive westerners learning about them.

I think this cultural diffusion is definitely okay. Like what davide said, if you keep culture "hidden", there is no beauty being spread, of that culture.
Expecially since we go to an International school, we see many different cultures, from the clothes we wear, the food we eat, etc.

Its good how people appreciate other clothing styles.

To me this is cultural diffusion. Like Davide said; if countries keep their cultures hidden from other cultures then no one can see the beauty of that culture, therefore cannot appreciate it. In that video, she lionizes India's style. She finds it very nice, but it doesn't seem as if she is exploiting it or anything, just showing its style to the world.

Like what they all said I dont think this is exploration at all..
It's a different culture with beautiful things to show and to share it! there's no need to hide it!
And i think its good for them ,to see that people appreciate their culture, and they buy all kinds of stuff from India!.
I really liked the part where the lady shows all the braceletes that they wear and the way they dress.

i dont think this is exlpoitation at all because i think like the girl in the video said.. the first step to undersatnding is being intrested, and when people are intersted in a culture, the often copy a few traditions in order to get "closer" to the culture.
... if eventually they seek to understand....then that actually helps the world with the whole war issue and sutff...more people will understand other cultures and will be able to see things through others perspective.

am i making sense??

I think that its exploitaion beacause westerners wear the bangles, and the saris, and the henna. When they really have no idea what it means or represents.
For one henna is used for spritual reasons in their culture...when the western use for henna is completely different.I also found it a little disapointing that the girl had become so westernized..it was a little difficult for her to wear and walk in a sari.

It seems as though this class mostly thinks that this is cultural diffusion. They woman talked about how the Indians dressed. I think cultures have no reason to be kept away from others or put aside, but on the contrary, should be shown. This is what shows variety. I agree with Davide when he states that cultures should not be hidden. I think they should be "displayed". Not in an offensive way but for people to notice them and maybe find interest in them.

I think its cultural diffusion. I think this because in order to understand each other it is important to know about each others background or culture. If people dress differently we should all look at it with interested eyes and try to understand this is how the world gets better.

The way I viewed the Indians in the video showed their openness towards people in sharing their culture. As a man mentioned,it is a pleasure for them to have tourists come and interact with them showing how interested they are in knowing all the different communities. These words prove to us that this is cultural diffusion and that they are welcoming us.The Indians meant to show their way of dressing for weddings, the amount of bracelets they wear and other personall things to prove to us that their culture can be distinguished among others as unique.
